Zeal Environmental Technology donates Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital blood bank
The Zeal Environmental Technology donates 15 blood carriers to the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi to support the collection of the hospital and blood banking to aid total health delivery.
In an interview with Citi News upon receiving the blood carriers from Zeal Environmental Technology, Michael Danso, the Head of Administration at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, extended gratitude to the waste management company for the quick response to such emergency provisions. Michael Danso again expressed that the regional hospital needs the use of blood carriers to boost its blood collection and storage as well.
He declared that “We are grateful for your immediate response to the request, and we promise that we will use it with an equal amount of zeal to ensure that the collection of blood is more efficient and better stored to enhance the services we provide to our patients”.
As Michael Danso, the administrator, was describing why the regional hospital used a portion of the processing fee for blood, he, however, chose to appeal to more organisations to extend their support for the blood to minimise the high cost of collecting blood and charging for a processing fee.
He again said that “we all know blood is free, but due to the cost of collecting it, we often ask patients to pay a modest fee for the processing. Although blood is not supposed to have a price tag, we always spend a significant sum to collect it, and because of that, we normally want to reach out to business entities to give a hand in blood collection, particularly the incentives we give to people when we’re collecting blood. We appeal to all who can help us, like how Zeal Environmental Technology has supported us today”.
The General Manager of Zeal Environmental Technology, Abdul Samad Ganiyu, stated the reason for their assistance to the blood bank. Zeal Environmental Technology, which is a waste management institution, is mindful about both environmental and quality delivery of healthcare.
Abdul Samad Ganiyu said, “On top of making the environment clean and safe for all, it is also our key responsibility as an environmental waste management company to make sure that the healthcare of humans is also improved. That is why immediately we received this request concerning blood, we took it as a great doorway for us to also contribute to the healthcare of humans within the Western Region. We aim to ensure that this will not be the last”.
In accordance with its mandate of ensuring a clean and safe environment, the Zeal Environmental Technologies team again provided a waste scape to the Shama District Assembly to enable them to easily collect solid waste for the prevention of the spread of diseases in the Shama District.
The District Coordinating Director of Shama, Richard Blevi, commended Zeal Environmental Technology after receiving one of the biggest waste escapes and for exhibiting exemplary behaviour by not just managing waste but rather supporting the public to control waste.
