JUST IN: Private schools fees and online classes implementation should be discussed with PTA – National Inspectorate Board

Private schools should engage parent on fees and online class per a press release by the National Inspectorate Board dated 27th April 2020 and signed by its Executive Secretary, Madam Haggar Hilda Ampadu.
In the press release sighted by Newsghana24.com, the National Inspectorate Board (NIB) indicated it had received complaints from parents regarding the attempt by private schools to implement alternative online teaching.

However, parents are skeptical about how they will prepare their wards for the online classes and support the children.
The second bone of contention is whether parents would pay full fees or a fraction of the fees for the term. In combating COVID-19: Will private schools in Ghana offer discounts on term fees?
The (NIB) has suggested schools engage PTAs in this to ensure they reach a compromise in their quest to deliver quality education. It added that schools without PTA’s will not receive their certificates with the board either will those without it be registered.

Private school fees have been locked up with parents ahead of the unexpected lockdown. This has crippled many private schools, forcing them to seek government intervention.
Many teachers in such schools have not either been paid or have only received a portion of their March salary with no hope in sight for the April 2020 salary.
