Ntim commends Ken Agyapong for not resigning from NPP
Mr. Ntim and Kennedy Agyapong
Mr. Stephen Ntim, the National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has praised the decision of Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP) Ken Ohene Agyapong not to quit from the party despite pressure from some of his fans as heartwarming.
According to Mr Ntim, the NPP’s goal of breaking the 8-year jinx in order to maintain political power for a third term in office would have been difficult if Ken Agyapong had disassociated himself from the national campaign.
He remarked that the Assin Central MP has been a valuable asset not only to his constituency but to the NPP as a whole in the majority of the party’s successes.
The Chairman, Mr Ntim, stated that all of Hon. Agyapong’s concerns are valid, and he will do all in his power to address them.

Mr Ntim praised Mr. Agyapong for his courage and loyalty to the NPP’s course and urged all members who supported him to band together as one force for the party’s common goal, as the NPP’s extended stay in power is the best guarantee that all people will gain.
“I have listed to ken, his position today makes the breaking the 8 a reality If a stalwart like Ken had stayed away from the campaign it would have been difficult for the NPP ,” Mr Ntim said during the 64th birthday celebration of MrAgyapong on Sunday June 16
At the ceremony, Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong denied allegations that he might run for independent in the December 7 elections. He also denied rumors that he had resigned from the New Patriotic Party.
Addressing friends and loved ones, including the NPP’s National Chairman, Stephen Ayesu Ntim, during his 64th birthday celebration on Sunday, June 16, the firebrand lawmaker stated that he wanted the party to be unified heading into the December 7 elections.
“What I want all the party faithfuls to know is that I have not resigned from the party. I am not going independent. I’m still an NPP member.”
He emphasized that whatever transpired during the primaries is behind him, and urged his followers to unify behind the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, for victory.
Ken Agyapong later stated that some people have urged him to become independent, but he does not believe this is a “wise thing”.
“If you know me very well, I am not selfish and people have come to me several times that ‘Go independent, Go independent’. I think that is not a wise thing to do. Therefore, I have refused to do that. So, I’m pleading with the supporters and NPP party supporters [and] NPP people at large, everywhere, that with united front we can win the election in 2024.”
This act by the six-time MP is anticipated to soothe tensions inside the party, since he is viewed as the primary challenge to Dr Bawumia’s advancement in the NPP.
Despite protesting that his supporters are being bullied by the Vice President’s supporters, he advised them to bury the hatchet and go forward in unity.
“Once I’m a party member, no matter what happened during the primaries, I think we are all one people and it will be best for all of us to come together,” he stated.
“So, I’m pleading with my supporters, let’s use my birthday to reconcile. I’m also appealing to the Vice President’s supporters, I know they are intimidating my supporters. If they want us to come together and unite for a united front, then they should also reciprocate the same favours I am rendering on behalf of my supporters.”
This is the reason Mr Ntim has commended Kennedy Agyapong.
