Missing female teacher found dead in Volta Lake
A missing female teacher has been found dead in Volta Lake several days after. Benedicta Gyane Afofie the deceased is a 26-year-old female teacher who went missing some 48 hours ago in the Atebubu-Amantin Municipality. Her mother is in distraught following the untimely and mysterious demise of her daughter.
The lifeless body of the late Benedicta Gyane Afofie was retrieved from the Yeji in the Pru East District of the Volta region. Before the sad occurrence, she was a teacher at the Amantin Roman Catholic Junior High School. According to accounts by the mother, she discovered her daughter was not around as at 4:00 am but she left behind her mobile phone.

Not much information is available on her sudden death and details remain sketchy. Our source in the Volta region indicated that divers managed to retrieve the body of the deceased following reports that she had drowned in the lake.

Investigations have been launched by the Ghana Police Service in Yeji and plans are in place to put her to rest due to the decomposed nature of the body.
Neighbours described her as very friendly and easy-going. The former student of the University of Development Studies (UDS) has thrown the Atebubu township into shock.
