Date for vetting of Newly Nominated Ministers
The Parliament’s Appointments Committee has scheduled the vetting process for the newly nominated Ministers of State from Tuesday, March 5, 2024, to Tuesday, March 12, 2024. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo made significant changes to his ministerial appointees on February 14, 2024. These changes were aimed at bringing fresh perspectives, new expertise, and improved efficiency to the government’s operations.
The restructuring of the government machinery affected approximately 21 ministers of state, including cabinet ministers, regional ministers, and the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta. Ofori-Atta has faced criticism from both protesters and Members of Parliament within his party and the opposition for his handling of the country’s economy.
