The sudden passing of beloved Ghanaian gospel musician KODA on April 21, 2024, has resurfaced an old video where he discussed enduring a severe medical oversight as a doctor prescribed a wrong medication.
While the exact cause of KODA’s death has not yet been disclosed, it is understood that he had been battling an illness for some time.
In the video, which has recently gained renewed attention on Facebook, KODA shared a troubling experience from around 2016 involving the misadministration of medication by a hospital in Takoradi.
He explained that he had been unknowingly prescribed and had taken a sulfur-based drug for about eight months despite having a known condition, G6PD deficiency, which makes such medications harmful.
KODA narrated that he began experiencing unusual symptoms shortly after starting the medication.
Concerned by these adverse effects, he took the initiative to research the medication himself.
To his dismay, he discovered that the primary component was sulfur, a substance he knew to be dangerous for individuals with his condition.
