Greater Accra Accounts For Over 85% Of COVID-19 Cases In Ghana

Whiles Ghana’s sharp rise in Covid-19 cases is worrying, Greater Accra alone has recorded 85.64 person which is 3,436 in absolute figures.
Since the lifting of the partial lockdown, Ghana’s case counts have escalated with the highest daily recorded cases of 533.

The Ghana Health Service has indicated that “Over 50% of these cases were as a result of an outbreak in an industrial facility with 1,300 workers it has confirmed of which 533″
This huge number of infected persons might have already come into contact with several persons within their homes and communities.
For many in Greater Accra, this is becoming scary because they do not know exactly which areas are the hotspots in the region. Such information will inform the movement of people within the region.
This is the time to do area or constituency specific lockdowns in Greater Accra to safeguard the lives of the masses. Health experts have indicated that COVID-19 cases in Ghana have reached its peak and is expected to decline however, the new spikes have created greater concerns for the populace.
