BREAKING NEWS: Coronavirus Hits Ghana As Korle Bu Records Two Cases

Ghana’s first Two coronavirus (2019-nCoV) suspected have been reported at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
Two foreigners–a Chinese man and an Argentinean man–were reported on Thursday and both were taken from the undisclosed health center in Accra to Ghana to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

Dr Winfred Baah, Ghana Medical Association (GMA) who confirmed it and indicated that additional evaluation of the existence of the deadly infection, as well as laboratory tests, would be undertaken to confirm it.

On Thursday’s edition of Joy TV’s PM Express, Dr. Baah, a consultant to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, said that a number of staff had been told of the two cases. The patients were isolated and their samples were obtained for further study.
Dr Baah explained that the Chinese left the home country for Ghana sometime in September 2019 while the Argentine, who was in Shanghai, joined the Chinese in Ghana in January.

“They’ve all developed some symptoms that fit the case definition [but] it doesn’t mean they have the disease,” he clarified. Ghana and other countries were said to be at a high risk of recording Coronavirus cases according to the WHO.
