SPORTS
The president of the republic of Ghana Nana Akuffo Addo in his 2019 State of the Nation Address, touched on some important issues on sports. Below are some highlights from Akufo-Addo’s 3rd state of the Nation’s Address on sports.
President Nana Akuffo Addo spoke about Ghana’s bid she won to host the 13th All Africa Games after beating Egypt. This will be held in 2023 and it requires a lot of preparation.
According to the president of Ghana, this gives Ghana a big opportunity to upgrade her sports facilities in the country as well as position the country as the preferred destination. This will help develop sports disciplines on the continent he added.
He informed the nation that he has tasked the New Patriotic Party (NPP)
PEACE AND STABILITY
“I have asked the leadership of the NPP to extend an invitation to the leadership of the NDC for such a meeting on vigilantism.” He added the Ghana’s security services will be on standby to help assist in the meeting. He hinted that, should the parties not be able to voluntarily deal with the issue of vigilante groups, there will be the need for the initiation of legislation on the matter.
President Nana Addo is of the view that, politics in Ghana should not be an activity for vigilante groups but rather, dialogue and vigorous debate on issues is what is needed.

The preside also reiterated that today’s children and posterity will not forgive the current generation kindly should we mess up the peace and stability of the nation and that, such a thing will not be allowed under his watch.
COMMUNICATION
On communication, the president informed the nation that over 1.2 million addresses have been registered and verified with the help of the National Digital Property Addressing System.
State of the Nation Address: The president of Ghana Nana Addo will have the opportunity to present another state of the nation address in 2020, 10 months before Ghanaians go to the polls to decide who governs Ghana from January 7, 2020 to December 7th 2024.
