12-year-old Nigerian Maths Formula recognized and awarded in the UK
12-year-old Nigerian Maths Formula recognized and awarded in the UK. He introduced that amazing maths formula into the world of mathematics in an attempt to solve a math problem.
The boy who is based in the UK got this prestigious award after he was credited for propounding the mathematical formula at age twelve (12).
Chika Ofili recieved the TruLittle Hero Awards this weekend for his new formula which helped discover a new way of dividing in mathematics.
The young mathematician, a rare gem among his age mates across the globe came out with the formula which helps to find numbers that can be divided by 7 using an easy method.
Young Chika came out with the method while working on his holiday assignment, Miss Mary Ellis, head of the mathematics department at Westminster Under School said.
According to her, she handed to Chika a book titled First Steps for Problem Solvers (published by the UKMT).
The book was a guide to help students test which numbers are divisible and by which number however, these methods were not easy to keep in memory.
To her amazement, Chika solved questions related to numbers divisible by 7 and came out with an algebraic proof.
How is it done?
His new formula involves taking the last digit of any whole number, multiplying it by 5 and then adding it to the remaining part of the number to get a new number. If this new number is divisible by 7, then the original number is divisible by 7.
The Nigerian boy awarded for new maths formula has become an inspiration to the world, and lovers of mathematics.
In a related development Ghana also had a 12-year-old admitted into University of Ghana Student
Below is the math formula discovered by Chika Ofili ,the 12-year-old Nigerian Maths Formula hero. Nigerians has taken to social media to celebrate him after the awards.
