Teenager buries baby alive after delivery
An 18-year-old teenage mother buried her new born baby one day after delivery.
This sad event occurred at a town by name Owodokum which is near Suhum in the Suhum Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The lady carried out the evil plan on Sunday July 14, 2019. The suspect has been identified as Jenifer Badu.
This was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) DSP Ebenezer Tetteh of the Eastern Regional Police office.
According to DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, residents in the area reported the incident at the police station in the early hour of the morning around 4 am.
The report received indicated that, Jenifer Badu had earlier on delivered a baby in a nearby bush but buried the child alive.
The police acted upon receiving the information and went to the scene in the bush only to find a lifeless baby in a small whole in a supine position with the placenta close to its body.
Investigators took photographs of the body and conveyed it to the Suhum Government Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
