President Akuffo Addo in self isolation after a member in his circle tested positive for Covid19
The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has resorted to take a fourteen (14) day precautionary self isolation measure in compliance with Covi19 protocol. The action was taken after a member in his circle tested positive for Covid19.
The virus, Covid19 which knows no person or class has taken its focus on the affluent and leaders of this nation. At least it has taken the life of a politician, a lawyer and former General Secretary for the ruling party, NPP, Sir John. During the earlier days of last month, the Health Minister, Agyeman Manu was alleged to have contracted the virus but he came out to refute the claims that he was just resting at the facility dedicated for the treatment of Covid19 for the ministers – UGMC. The virus also attacked Papa Owusu Ankomah, Ghana’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom but he recovered.

And the most recent case of Covi19 versus the leaders of the land is Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, the Member of Parliament for Tema West constituency. After testing positive for the virus, the MP was still spotted roaming at the voter ID registration centre in his constituency, an act the populace deemed careless and devilish. This has caused a stir in the country as some rants he should be brought to justice. However, he has resigned from his pose. Later, it was revealed that two of his team members have contracted the virus.
Covid19 is still on its tour in the world of the politicians and now has laid his hand on a closer member within the President’s circle. The revelation has it that the President has, however, tested negative. Yet, upon advice from the doctors, he has to undertake the self-isolation precautionary measure.

The notice released by the Minister of Information dated July 4, 2020 read, “On the advice of doctors, the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is from today, July 4, 2020 taking a fourteen (14) day precautionary self isolation measure in compliance with covid-19 protocols.
The president has elected to do so after at least one person within his close circle tested positive for Covid-19 today.
He has, as at today, tested negative, but has elected to take this measure out of the abundance of caution.
The president will during this precautionary self isolation period, be working from the Presidential Villa at the Jubilee House, Accra. End.”
