Let’s look at the difficulties in the way of the president.
1. Financial Sector clean up and its aftermath effects. This is a major one because it affected hundreds of thousands of Ghanaians.
2. Contractors who have not been paid. They will definitely like to see the government lose for another who will pay.
3. The Abossey Okai spare parts dealers who contributed as well as voted for NADAA are disappointed with the dollar rate as well as with the ban on over aged vehicles. They recently expressed support for NDC and for former President John Dramani Mahama.
4. Some Ghanaians are of the view that the government has borrowed heavily with little to show for it. The government has borrowed in excess of GHc120 billion only.
5.The closed down radio stations. Across the country many radio stations have been closed down by the government (Ministry of Communications, NCA) for various reasons. They are mostly sympathizers of the opposition NDC party.
6. The press freedom perceived attack under this administration. Journalists who received threats on their lives for criticizing government.
7.Some Ghanaians opined inadequate infrastructural development by the government.
8. The crumbling of the otherwise touted resilient economy in three weeks Covid-19 partial lockdown. The economy will now take about two years to recover.
9. The NAM1 Menzgold case. Many people have their monies locked up and NAM1 is on bail at home.
10. The perceived corruption without any prosecutions.
Based on these sentiments do you think it will be easy for the incumbent to win the elections hands down? It will be a little bit more than easy. Maybe a little difficult.
