NaSIA is the most responsive education sector agency – EduWatch

Education Think-tank, Africa Education Watch (EduWatch) has indicated that the most responsive agency within the country’s education sector is the National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA).
This comes weeks ahead of the match anticipated 3rd Open Governance Report, Africa Education Watch. The positive feedback comment was posted by the Executive Director of EduWatch in a social media comment.
Per the post by Mr. Kofi Asare, “The National Schools Inspectorate Authority is the most responsive Education Sector Institution. Eduwatch soon-to-be-published 3rd Open Governance Report,”
What You Need To Know About
The National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA) is an agency of the Ministry of Education mandated by Parliament to provide an independent external evaluation of the quality and standards in basic and second-cycle educational institutions in the country on a periodic basis.
NaSIA regulates the establishment of new schools and the quality of infrastructure and facilities in Pre-Tertiary Educational Institutions (PTEIs).
NaSIA is the Agency under the Ministry of Education, responsible for the licensing of new and existing Pre-Tertiary Educational Institutions (PTEIs).
NaSIA’s School Inspections support quality school leadership and governance in order to maintain the highest educational standards.
NaSIA’s monitoring and evaluation measures in the educational sector are key to upholding set standards and uncovering issues.

In 2008, the Education Act, 778 established the National Inspectorate Board, with 3 main responsibilities:
(a) School Inspection,
(b) School Evaluation and
(c) Standards enforcement.
The National Schools Inspectorate Authority, formerly known as National Inspectorate Board (NIB), according to the Education Regulatory Bodies Act(ERBA, 2020(ACT1023)) has the mandate to:
(a) Develop;
(b) Publish;
(c) Promote;
(d) License all public and private Pre-Tertiary Schools;
(e) Enforce;
the highest quality standards for quality education in public and private Pre-Tertiary Educational Institutions
