News making rounds on social media has indicated there is a Massive demo, strike to be announced by (NAGRAT) over the new education bill.

Massive demo and strike to be announce by Nagrat by the end of this week, The reason been that the NPP government have sent a bill to parliament which was lay last week, yet to be pass, if the bill is passed all government primary and Jhs teachers will be own, managed and be paid by district Assemblies across the country but SHS will still be under the ministry of education.

The new education bill has certain clauses and sections that the teacher unions re seeking to get changed since it will not be in the interest of the teacher. If the three Teacher Unions — the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT) declared another strike action, that will mount to bad publicity for government, the MoE, and the GES.
The teachers are of the view that the Bill, when passed, will see basic schools, Senior High Schools and Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) being managed by the District Assemblies, Regional Education Directorate and a Director-General independent of the Ghana Education Service.
Already, GNAT, National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) and Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana (CCT-GH) say they will resist any attempt by the government to decentralize Education under the Local government Ministry either than the Education Ministry.
TEWU has also joined in the call and has vowed to resist the passage of the Pre-Tertiary Education Bill.
