The Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) wishes to remind prospective and existing students that, the 2015 syllabus of the Institute’s Chartered Accountant (CA) Professional Examination has expired.
After four (4) years of organizing examinations on the old syllabus, Council commissioned the revision of the Syllabus in line with international standards and to make it more relevant to current accounting trends as pertains in business and practice.
In view of the revision, the following subjects have been introduced to Level 1 to Level 3 of the new Syllabus:
· Level 1: Introduction to Management Accounting
· Level 2: Principles of Taxation
· Level 3: Strategic Case Study
IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE:
The Strategic Case Study Paper will consist of two case studies. Candidates will be provided with background information on the respective case studies, two weeks prior to the examination.
All candidates who did not complete a Level in the previous syllabus, will be required to write the newly-introduced Paper at that Level.

With respect to the Policy of writing examinations across Levels, a candidate cannot write either a Level 2 or Level 3 Paper, if he/she has more than one Paper to write in either Level 1 or Level 2, respectively
To facilitate a candidate’s progression, a window of opportunity is being granted to candidates who have written examinations across Levels in the old syllabus.
These candidates, due to the introduction of the new Syllabus may have two (2) Papers outstanding in Level 1 or Level 2.
These candidates will be allowed to add the remaining Leve1 2 or Level 3 Papers to the November 2019 examination diet ONLY.
