Ghana’s Abdul-Rasheed Saminu crowned 2025 Male Athlete of the Year

Abdul-Rasheed Saminu Ghana’s lightning-fast runner, has been declared Male Athlete of the Year at the 2025 Stampede of Champions. This esteemed award honors his outstanding performances as part of the University of South Florida.
Abdul-Rasheed Saminu’s proven track record of success, including breaking multiple indoor and outdoor records, has firmly entrenched himself as a top athlete in the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). Abdul-Rasheed Saminu’s achievements have a broader impact on the Stampede of Champions. He won the award for the Best Individual Performance award for last year’s marks, which led to his qualification for the Paris Olympics.
He has delivered outstanding performances lately, including a wind-assisted 9.87 seconds in the 100-meter dash, the top recorded time in the NCAA this season, and a new program record. A strong beginning to outdoor season puts him on track to break the 10-second barrier.
