Empowering Tomorrow: Achimota Alumni Unite to Secure School’s Future through ASET Fund
The 1999-Year Group of the Old Achimotan Association (OAA) has issued a rallying cry to all alumni, urging them to contribute to the Achimota School Endowment Trust (ASET) fund.
Dedicated to bolstering the school’s long-term vision and leaving an enduring impact on future generations, the ASET fund serves as a vital financial resource.
It supports academic excellence, infrastructure development, and a diverse range of educational initiatives.
During a press conference which took place yesterday at the school’s premise in Accra, Mr. Akwete Bortei-Doku, President of the 1999-Year Group, emphasized the fund’s mission to establish a legacy of empowerment and transformation, ensuring a brighter future for Achimota students.
“Our aim is to cultivate a generation of educated individuals poised to make a difference in our nation and beyond,” he remarked.
As part of the Achimota Senior High School’s 97th Founder’s Day celebrations, the press conference highlighted the crucial role of alumni support in supplementing government resources for educational enhancements.
The OAA 99 Year group aims to raise $10 million by the school’s centennial in 2027, focusing on projects like dormitories, classroom blocks, and science laboratories to accommodate the growing student population.
Mr. Joel Nettey, President of OAA, underscored the Fund’s objective to elevate the school’s infrastructure and academic standards through sustainable investments, ensuring a legacy of educational excellence for future generations.
With the Founder’s Day festivities approaching, themed “Nurturing the Present, Restoring the Legacy,” the Achimota School anticipates a vibrant celebration, uniting alumni from the 1974, 1984, and 1999-Year Groups in honoring the institution’s rich heritage and promising future.
