Coronavirus: Yvonne Nelson says Ghana is not ready, couldn’t get face masks to buy
Yvonne Nelson has raised an alarm that Ghana doesn’t seem to be ready to fight coronavirus if it breaks out in the country.
If you can stay focus in negative situations, you can win
The severe lung disease, with no approved cure yet, which started in China and infected 78,927 people in the Asian country as of 28 February, with 2,790 of them dying, has spread to more than 50 countries, including the UK, Italy, America and now, Nigeria.
With the first case reported in Lagos on 28th February, Ghanaians have been more concerned on how to avoid contracting the virus now named Covid-19. In this pursuit, Yvonne Nelson says that she tried searching for a face mask but a top pharmacy in Accra only offered her a construction mask.
According to the ace actress, her experience of not being able to find the appropriate face mask is a sign that Ghana is not prepared to fight and contain the virus if it breaks out in the country. The mother of one then took social media to register her displeasure.
“Ghana!!! What a joke! I’ve checked more than 20 pharmacies today for face masks and you won’t believe one top pharmacy on the East Legon main road brought out a construction mask! Charley we aren’t ready as a country at all,” She tweeted.
