Coronavirus in Ghana, invite Chinese doctors not prayers
Coronavirus in Ghana, prayers won’t solve it but proactive action. We cannot as a nation keep praying and do little in our quest to deal with the continuous rise in cases reported. China did not solve the problem by declaring prayers even though they were praying, the declared proactive force and action.
China’s prevention and control efforts have made important progress at this stage. In the nation of 1.4 billion people, the daily new confirmed cases keep dropping and most of them are imported from overseas.
Now that Ghanaians who have not traveled have also tested negative, we have to take serious proactive non-partisan approaches.
A country that invests in a $100million Cathedral, and not in medical research, can only pray in times of a global pandemic and hope to profit from the labs of countries that invest in science and technology.
That is the reality and that is all we can do now and so, how do we go about it?
- Invite Chinese doctors, not prayers, God is in every country, the coronavirus in a medical condition and it needs science, health care, and technology. Reach out to China and send us some of their doctors to help import their skills, specialist knowledge to help manage the situation. They have sent some to Italy. The president and health officials must see this as a viable option. Prayer will be unproductive if the actions we are taking are flawed.
- Sponsor psychologist to counsel Ghana’s on TV, radio, social media and the likes. People are frustrated, many are confused, greater more are distressed.
- We must stop the Ghana card registration now. It is a risky venture for the benefit of the politicians and its continuation is a threat to our very existence.
Let us not worsen the case of the coronavirus pandemic. Let us take selfless, none selfish political decisions. From the highest officeholders to the last rank and file in Ghana, I say be a citizen, not a spectator. If we make a mistake, “it will over us.”
