‘Burna Boy fake, very unoriginal, didn’t deserve to win Grammy’ – Brymo
Do you agree with Brymo ” that ‘Burna Boy fake, very unoriginal, and didn’t deserve to win Grammy?
Lawale lifra, better known by his stage as Brymo, has called Burna Boy “sleazy, cheap, very unoriginal and very fake” despite Boy’s Grammy triumph.
The ‘Ara’ singer recently gave an interview to TVC, where he criticised Burna Boy for winning a Grammy for his fifth studio album, ‘Twice As Tall,’ since he lacks creativity and most of his songs are samples.
He also criticised Wizkid and Davido, calling them “thieves” for profiting off of Fela’s afrobeat sacrifices with Burna Boy.
I watched a video of him [Burna Boy] stating that he was the Jesus of afrobeats,” Brymo explained. And he did the same thing with Davido and Wizkid, except with different mountains.

I consider Burna Boy to be dishonest, imprudent, and dishonest. In a word, boring. Clearly phoney. All of his music is built on samples or stolen catchphrases. And who is responsible for that? Who exactly is giving out Grammys for that?
“Afrobeat is a genre of music. A genre cannot be applied to this. Fela’s afrobeat is a style of music. It’s also insulting that today’s musicians just appended an’s’ to the end of the word when they referred to previous generations’ work. And they tried to make more sets of ones besides “Wizkid is the first. The song “Davido Burna Boy…” features Davido Burna. Not at all. Do you realise how much trouble Baba [Fela] had making afrobeat? “They’re all thieves. Whatever the case may be, I see it as a major issue for us.
