Black Man in Maidstone cuffed by police for insisting on his right against two white males.
I am sure one out of every two black men in Europe or America has been a victim of institutional racism at some point, especially from the police. In most cases, the very people tasked to protect us are the very people that treat us like animals.
One Saturday morning around 4 am in Maidstone, Kent, I was cuffed by the police for insisting on my right against two white males. I came back from work on a cold morning only to find my car clamped because I was stupid enough to park on a private property. I followed protocol and paid the fine via my phone using my debit card. It took the clamping company an hour to arrive only to tell me they left their keys in the office.

They advised me subsequently that, another team will be assigned the job so as to get my vehicle unclamped. That got me pissed off so I decided I will not let them leave the premises until the other team arrived. Sensing danger, I immediately called the police who arrived in about 10mins or so.
The police after speaking to us separately decided to cuff me because am apparently preventing these two WHITE male guys from carrying out their duties. The police then allowed them to leave then uncuffed me. As if that wasn’t enough, they advised me to be careful next time because I could be arrested and charged for whatever crime they thought I may have committed. They then uncuffed me after the caution and left me to wait for the other team which took another 2hrs for them to arrive.
I’ve never felt violated in my life until that unfaithful day. Institutional racism is REAL and the police are among those that are guilty of such a crime.
Just last week, I was stopped in my neighbourhood in Maidstone by the police and the excuse was, someone had called them of a burglary. I then challenged the officers whether the person mentioned a black person in his or her description. Immediately they apologized and asked me to continue my journey.
Many young black men go through this on a daily basis but have no voice to make their stories get heard. We are created equal before God but man has decided to right his own rule. One person that will always have my back is Craig Wells. Let’s promote love rather than hate.
