2021 WASSCE starts today for School candidates
The 2021 WASSCE for school candidates officially starts today across the nation. The examination which commenced on 16th August saw candidates participate in the practical papers until now.
WAEC has instituted some 763 centres as the 2021 WASSCE starts today for the examination and 446,321 candidates have been registered for the examination.
According to the West African Examination Council, 221,437 males and 224,884 females from 965 schools will participate in the 2021 edition of the examination.
To ensure candidates go through the examination without any challenges, WAEC has advised students to desist from all forms of examination malpractices and follow the rules governing the exam.

“Candidates are also advised to adhere to the rules and regulations of the examination and to refrain from engaging in any form of examination malpractice that could lead to the withholding or cancellation of their results,” Head of National Office – WAEC, Mrs. Wendy Addy-Lamptey told candidates ahead of the examination.

Invigilators have been cautioned not to bend the rules and instructions pertaining to their engagement with the examining body and to avoid using mobile handsets into the examination halls.

This batch of candidates sitting for the WASSCE are the second cohort under the Free SHS policy. They are expected to perform better and cement the success chocked by the 2020 batch which outshined Nigeria.
