The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) says candidates who sat for the 2020 WASSCE and for some reasons are not satisfied with their result can appeal to the Council 60 days after the release of the results for review.

The Head of Test Administration Division, WAEC, Mr George Ohene Mantey said this in an interview monitored by Georgeweb.org with host Winifred.

According to him, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has a system in place for any candidate who is not satisfied with his or her WASSCE results to make an appeal 60 days after the release of the result.

“Every candidate has the right to appeal if for some reasons is not satisfied with the results, that is available for any candidate,” he told host Winifred.

He, consequently, urged candidates who are not satisfied with their WASSCE results to make an appeal at the nearest WAEC office for a review.

Commenting on claims that WAEC intentionally fail students for them to sit for Nov/Dec, Mr George said: “our existence is base on the conduct of an examination and we will under no circumstance fail or leak questions to candidates to tarnish our image, our processes are fair and transparent”.

According to the WAEC staff, the non-profit-making organization (WAEC) is never interested in any candidates failure as Ghanaian students claim their failure is the success of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

Meanwhile, WAEC Friday, November 12, 2020, released the provisional results of the Free SHS beneficiaries who sat for the 2020 edition of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination despite COVID-19.
