Hours after the release of the Press release, some online news portals published publications that suggested that the 14 Akufo-Addo Graduates dismissed have been recalled as a result of the intervention of the President.
The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has refuted the claims and it has indicated that the President Akufo-Addo has not ordered them to with immediate effect recall the 14 bared and dismissed final year Senior High School, students
The fake news portals in a post said: “it has reliably been informed that President Akufo-Addo has taken notice of the decision by the Ghana Education Education but has directed a review of the decision”.
The fake news further indicated that “a source at the Presidency, despite the gravity of the offence by the students does not want their education to be truncated” portals that published the news also alleged that “The President wants the GES to find an alternative punishment for the students instead of barring them from the ongoing West African Certificate Examination (WASSCE)”.
However, the GES has denied the claims made in the publication indicating that the final decision reached was authorized by the Ministry of Education (MoE) under the auspices of the Government of Ghana.
The GES has therefore called on the general public to disregard the said publication.
