What to expect in Ghana V Benin at AFCON 2019 clash
Ghana would have the opportunity to play her first match at the ongoing African Nations Cup in Egypt today in a few hours. Ghana V Benin is an important game for the Ghana black stars who have been eluded by the AFCON trophy for 37 years now.
The last time Ghana laid hands on the trophy was in 1982 although the footballing nations have made it to many more finals but failed to win against opponents including La Cote d’Ivoire.
Fans of Ghana Black Stars are gearing up for the team and are hoping that the Black stars will not give them any new heart attacks.
If the black stars want to become the toast of lovers of the African game and if they want their countrymen, Ghanaians home and abroad to have hope, confidence and believe in them, then, the Black stars must come to the party tonight and not only play good football but win convincingly.
Anything other outcomes apart from this will further widen the gap between the black stars and the supporters and reduce the fan base. A walk on the streets of Ghana today revealed fewer persons are talking about the black stars while you hardly see anyone in the black stars jerseys.
