Truecare Ghana feeds over 300 residents of Abokobi, donate CASH and clothes
TrueCare Ghana, community feeding campaign has ended successfully as the foundation fed over 300 residents of Abokobi in Adenta Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
The Foundation also distributed cash, clothing, and food items to some of the area’s most destitute families.
The feeding campaign is one of TrueCare’s flagship projects, which have been carried out for many years in collaboration with local authorities and traditional leaders in separate communities.
This year’s event was also held in collaboration with the Assembly, Chiefs, and the Abokobi Divisional Social Welfare.
Earlier, the TrueCare community feeding campaign train was at Frafraha where over 300 residents were fed.
Also, a massive clean-up exercise was organized alongside the feeding Project to help improve the sanitation situation in the area.
TrueCare Ghana’s Executive Director, Saint Ofosu Koranteng, speaking at the ceremony held at Abokobi stated the gesture was part of the organization’s corporate social responsibility to respond to society’s needs in underprivileged areas.
According to him, government alone cannot solve the myriad of challenges the country is facing; hence there is the need for every meaningful to contribute their quota to national development.
It is in this regard, we are stepping in as an NGO to complement the government’s effort to help address the plight of the vulnerable in the country.
Stressing that, TrueCareGhana is currently focused on addressing issues related to health, community development, and disaster relief.
Concerning health, he stated that an NGO has taken an active interest in facilitating funds to assist patients who cannot afford their surgical bills
.
“We took a deeper look at the National Insurance Policies, and while we respect and commend these policies, there are many restrictions and limitations to the beneficiaries.
Citing the absence of certain medications on these policies especially when it comes to surgeries.
TrueCareGhana has taken a huge step in this area by instituting a mechanism to facilitate cash to aid victims who are not financially sound to care for these bills,” he explained.

Saint Ofosu Koranteng, commenting on the disaster relief project, said over the years the NGO has also engaged in benevolence exercises by supporting flood-affected relief items.
The Abokobi Mantse Hon Samuel Nii Adjetey Mohenu, commended TrueCareGhana for embarking on such a benevolence exercise and prayed for the success of the Organisation to continue to offer selfless service to society.
He also seized the opportunity to appeal to the government to come to their aid and fix their road for them in order to facilitate their economic activities. Since the poor road network has impeded their operations and thwarted economic development in the area.
The Assemblyman for Abokobi Electoral Hon Moses Dowuna expressed satisfaction about the success of the project the NGO embarked on, stressing that the beneficiaries feel relieved and excited about the items they received.
However, he commended the management of the NGO for the donation adding that the gesture would go a long way to alleviate the burden on the people.
He also used the occasion to appeal to other corporate organizations, philanthropists, and well-meaning individuals in the country to emulate the gesture.
