SSNIT celebrates National Chocolate Week with their customers in Northern Ghana
Tamale, Feb. 17 The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has celebrated National Chocolate Day with their customers in the five regions of the North by sharing chocolates among some informal sector customers at Buipe in the Tamale Metropolis of the Northern Region, including other operational areas.
The gesture was to express love and gratitude to their customers for their loyalty in patronizing SSNIT products while providing security for their future and welfare.
Mr. Albert Owusu-Boateng, the Northern Regional Branch Manager of SSNIT, used the event to educate the customers on the Self-Employment Enrolment Drive (SEED), which led to many informal sectors enrolled unto the scheme, thereby contributing massively towards their pension for the future.
According to him, the scheme so far has registered about 900 members in 2023 and is currently targeting almost 2000 informal sector members from the Northern region to be enrolled unto the drive by the close of 2024.
Owusu-Boateng also highlighted the health benefits customers are entitled to: “While they go about their normal duties, so many things can happen and can get to an extent where doctors can declare them permanently invalid, and this is where SSNIT has a special package for them provided they have contributed up to twelve months within the last thirty-six months.”.
He stressed that in case of death, SSNIT has survivors benefit and that the packages can be accessed by all who contribute to the scheme.
Mr. Iddrisu Adam Andani, Seed Officer of SSNIT, stated that SSNIT is appealing to all informal sectors to register unto the drive to secure their future without depending on others during their old age.
Mr. Festus Dark-Preko, the Northern Sector Area Manager for SSNIT, said the future of every citizen is paramount to SSNIT; hence, the various programs have been designed by SSNIT to ensure all beneficiaries have better living conditions during their old age or while not in active service.
