Seshime Akoe Djiegbor Breaks Through into Anyaa-Sowutuom NDC Youth Leadership as Deputy Organiser
Seshime Akoe Djiegbor has secured a place in the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Anyaa-Sowutuom Constituency after emerging victorious in the race for Deputy Constituency Youth Organiser in the party’s October 24, 2026, internal elections.
Djiegbor polled 100 votes to win the position in a four-candidate contest, defeating Jerod Doetse Kabu, who obtained 89 votes, Daniel Otu Atta Duncan, who received 44 votes, and Mawuena David Amedume, who secured 34 votes.
Her victory marks an important addition to the constituency’s youth leadership structure at a time when political parties are increasingly required to engage young people meaningfully, respond to their concerns, and create opportunities for their participation in political and community development.
As Deputy Youth Organiser, Djiegbor joins a leadership team with responsibilities that extend beyond party organisation. The position places her within the constituency’s efforts to mobilise young people, strengthen grassroots structures, encourage active participation, and support initiatives that respond to the aspirations of the youth.
Her election also comes alongside that of Florence Sefakor Fumey, who won the Other Youth Representative position with 193 votes, defeating Emmanuel Krah Daabo, who polled 70 votes.
The emergence of the two women in the constituency’s youth leadership presents an opportunity for broader participation and representation in the party’s grassroots structures.
Meanwhile, Osumanu Banito Lamptey retained the Constituency Youth Organiser position after polling 223 votes against Edem Akakpo, who received 44 votes.
Lamptey’s continued leadership, alongside Djiegbor’s election as Deputy Youth Organiser and Fumey’s victory as Other Youth Representative, forms part of the youth leadership arrangement emerging from the constituency elections.
For Djiegbor, the new role provides an opportunity to contribute to the organisation and mobilisation of young people across the constituency while supporting efforts to make youth participation meaningful and responsive to their development needs.
The task ahead will involve helping to build stronger connections between the party and young people at the grassroots, encouraging their involvement in political processes, and supporting a youth agenda that goes beyond election-period mobilisation.
Her election therefore represents not only a personal political milestone but also an opportunity to contribute to the next phase of youth organisation within the Anyaa-Sowutuom Constituency.
As the NDC looks towards the 2028 general elections, the effectiveness of its constituency youth leadership will be measured not simply by its ability to mobilise supporters, but also by how consistently it engages young people and responds to the issues affecting their lives.
Djiegbor’s emergence into the leadership structure places her among those expected to help shape that responsibility.
