Gov’t to Pay Registration Fees of 2020 BECE for Public School Candidates
The government will absorb the registration fees of 2020 BECE (Basic Education Certificate Examination) candidates in public junior high schools.
This is because, government has decided to pay the registration fees of all candidates from all public institutions.
Public Basic School candidates preparing for the 2020 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) shall not be charged by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) to pay registration fees before taking part in the forthcoming exams.
According to a 13th November, 2019 Internal Memorandum of WAEC, government has decided to pay the registration fee which cost GHC88 pee candidate.
Government, since 2017/18 Academic promised and has committed to paying the BECE registration fees of all candidates from it’s institutions.
Parents are thereby not allowed to pay the registration fees of their wards at the public basic schools.
