Coronavirus: Prostitutes in Accra wear facial masks to do brisk business

Prostitutes spotted in Accra with facial masks to protect against COVID-19. Some sex workers spotted in the Togo Embassy area in Accra were wearing facial masks to protect themselves.
This time around, they are protecting themselves from not only sexually transmitted diseases but also the COVID-19.

The image has gone viral on social media since it surfaced. Social media users are saying indeed a man must survive even in the face of the coronavirus.
The Togo Embassy enclave is known to be the hideout where suspected sex traders ply their illegal trade. It also a common belief that many of the prostitutes in the area are made up of Nigerians, Ghanaians, Togolese, Liberians, Béninoise and Cameroonians.

The purpose of using the area is not only strategic but to also help them gain a competitive advantage thus, because of the closeness of Italian Embassy, Osu Oxford Street, Togo Embassy, Dankwa Circle and the Akufo-Addo intersection, it helps them to attract many customers each night.

Indeed Prostitutes spotted in Accra are not going to let the COVID-19 negatively impact their illegal trade but, they may be at a high risk of contracting the deadly disease.
