Police foil robbery attack, Sargent slashed
News gathered by Newsghana24.com has it that, the Kasoa Divisional Police command has foiled a robbery attack at the Kasoa branch of the GCB bank.
The uspect in police custody 36-year-old Kojo Appiagah entered the banking hall wielding a machete.

How the police foiled robbery attack
Upon entering the Walantu branch of the GCB Bank, he demanded monies be handed over to him.
In the process, he attacked the police officer on duty, Sargent Justice Nkrumah and slashed him leaving a deep cut on his left hand.
However, the suspected one man robbery gang was overpowered by the Police and handed over to the Divisional Police Command.
Items retrieved from him included a black bag, and a yellow and white piece of cloth containing a talisman.
Mental state of suspected armed robber
According to the family members of the suspect, the gentleman is mentally derailed hence his action.
“I am sure he is mentally unstable because at certain times, in the house, you see him holding a microphone and pretending to be preaching the word of God,” Azumah Appiagah told Citi News.
According to her, she heard on some radio stations that his brother has been arrested adding that she was shocked at the turn of event.
“I am surprised because I don’t know my brother to be an armed robber,” Azumah Appiagah said.
The Kasoa Divisional Police Command has refused to comment on the matter for now.
