Permit Ramadan fast among Muslim students – GES directs Wesley Girls, other SHSs [Full Press Release]
The Ghana Education Service (GES) in a press release has directed the management of Wesley Girls SHS to permit all Muslim students to freely take part in the Ramadan fast.

The Head of Public Relations, Cassandra Twumasi said the students who wish to fast for religious reasons should not be prevented from doing so.
“The Ghana Education Service, therefore, directs authorities of Wesley Girls High School as well as any other school to allow any such student who wishes to fast for any religious reason to do so.”
The letter further indicated that parents of such students must write to their ward’s schools and relieve the schools from any obligations should the children suffer any health problems as a result of the Ramadan fast.

“The parents of such student are also directed to write to the school indicating that the school shall not be held liable for any health condition of the student as a result of the fast. Staff, students, and the general public are to take note,” Management stated.
