NSAWAM MAFIA CHIEF GOES ON RAMPAGE AGAIN! DESTROYS FARMLANDS AMID CLAIMS OF BEING UNTOUCHABLE
The chief of Kofi-sa, a farming community in the Adoagyiri Municipality of the Easter region, Nana Kwame Abegya III has resumed his illegal sand-winning activities destroying thousands of acres of farmlands in the process again.
The chief who has gained notoriety for destroying farmlands in the process of his sand-winning activities was in the news last November for carrying out a similar action which saw several farmlands with its farm produce being destroyed with the help of excavators and gunwieldig thugs.
The news of his nefarious activities, led to his arrest and that of his boys, with the police cautioning them to desist from such acts.
However, just barely a few weeks after their release, Nana Kwame Abegya III resumed his illegal sand-winning operations, this time destroying over 1,000 acres of farmlands belonging to some peasant farmers in the community.
According to residents, the chief who was in the usual company of his thugs was captured on tape boasting of his influence on the police and the fact that he’s untouchable despite several complaints filed against him by affected farmers.
Daniel Osae, a peasant farmer who lost over 200 coconut trees to the bastardized act of Nana Abegya III said, not even a formal complaint filed against the former has been acted on by the Nsawam police.
Nana Danso Abio a former district best farmer, also lost his 150-acre orange plantation in the latest act. He told pressmen that they might be compelled to take the law into their hands if the police continue to remain silent and partial in the matter.
Meanwhile, reports suggest some youth of Kofi-sa who had planned attacking the chiefs palace last Wednesday, have served notice of making the life of the chief unbearable if he continues to attack the livelihood of his people.
