Ghanaian Healthcare Delegation on a four-city roadshow in the UK
Ghana’s healthcare sector is represented by 15 key organizations embarking on a four-city roadshow in the United Kingdom from March 17-21, 2025, at the invitation of the UK’s Department for Business and Trade.
This delegation is made up of representatives from the private health facilities, Ghanaian government, pharmaceutical and medical equipment distributors, and pharmaceutical manufacturers. The main goal of this visit is to strengthen trade cooperation and discover new development opportunities.
In doing so, this kind of collaborative delegation seeks to strengthen the existing healthcare strategic partnership between the UK and Ghana, which includes knowledge and expertise transfer, research and training, healthcare systems strengthening and investment.
John Humphrey, His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Africa, heading the UK delegation, stressed the UK’s dedication to strengthening economic partnership with Africa, with Ghana being a significant partner. John Humphrey also said that “This collaboration is aim to unlock growth, jobs, trade, investment, and opportunities in our economies.”
John Humphrey drew to attention the importance of this delegation, with respect to the fact that it presents an exclusive opportunity for UK businesses to make use of Ghana’s burgeoning healthcare market while giving Ghana’s development goals, involving comprehensive health insurance.
The Healthcare of UK-Ghana Roadshow kicks off in London and will arrive at Leeds, Birmingham, and Cardiff. This tour will connects Ghanaian delegates and UK which will make its way to giving specialized solutions and expertise to meet Ghana’s healthcare needs. The initiative promote economic collaboration between the UK and African nations,curbing supply chain disruptions and unlocking growth opportunities.
H.E. Harriet Thompson, the British High Commissioner to Ghana, talked about the long-term partnership between the two countries, will improve proper healthcare services and also support business opportunities.
This visit will give UK businesses a chance to tap into Ghana’s increased demand for healthcare services. Again it is going to provide Ghana with access to the UK’s expertise, products, and services in the sector.
