NABCO Trainees are HOT due to Unpaid allowances and MTN Qwikloan Arrears Wahala. Unpaid allowances and MTN Qwikloan Arrears Wahala are the Two troubles facing NABCO recruits as their allowance have been delayed over many months and to worsen the situation they have raised funds through the MTN Qwikloan and have not been able to settle the debt.
Some section of the disgruntled recruits who were employed under the government’s employment program, Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) have complained of the delays in paying their allowances. This they say is having serious negative effects on them. It has compelled them to borrow from others to survive and they have also taken loans from MTN and cannot pay back which is making their interest on the loan to keep increasing.
The trainees have been hatching demonstration ideas for a long time and the last time, newsghana24 sighted a letter in which they were denied the right to stage a demonstration because they failed to meet the minimum requirements in terms of the day the request was made and the demonstration day.
The Coalition of Nabco Trainees (CONAT) is a group seeking to champion the issues affecting the trainees. It issues a statement on Friday saying it will not relent in its efforts to seek for the welfare of trainees.
Nana B. Asamoah informed the public during an interview on Yem Radio in Bolgatanga that, while some trainees have not been paid their allowance since November 2018, others are still waiting for their allowance for the month of March and April 2019.
According to him the leadership of the trainees have discussed the matter with the management of the Scheme. They were informed that some trainees had challenges with the details they provided, however, the trainees have gone back make the necessary corrections yet, they are yet to be paid.
He added that, just as others are owing MTN Qwikloan Arrears, he is also owning, has not been able to pay and they keep slapping them with at least 12% interest as a result of the day in paying. The fact is that the moment the money hits the account, MTN will do an automatic deduction on your account.
