Man beaten over missing genitals at Senya Bereku
In a troubling incident at Senya Bereku in the Central Region of Ghana, a man in his late 30s was severely beaten by a mob over an accusation of magically causing the missing of another man ‘s genitals.
The event occurred near Zion C Basic School around 10 PM on Tuesday, April 10, when approximately 30 individuals armed with metal objects, stones, and sticks converged on the residence of the accused, Mr. Isaac Saint.
The attack was prompted by claims from a local motorcycle taxi (‘pragya’) driver who alleged that his penis vanished shortly after transporting Mr. Isaas Saint.
Despite the victim’s attempts to defend himself, the enraged mob inflicted serious injuries upon him, leaving him with bleeding wounds and causing him to vomit blood.
The police intervened, rescuing Mr. Isaac Saint and escorting the accuser to Senya polyclinic for a medical evaluation, where it was confirmed that his genitals were intact.
The accuser admitted to seeking help from a spiritual healer at Jehovah El Shaddhai 7th Day Sabbath Assembly in Senya prior to the police examination.

The aftermath of the incident saw the police detaining both the complainant and the spiritual healer, while Mr. Isaac Saint was hospitalized at the Winneba Specialist and Trauma Hospital for his injuries.
Community members and the pastor of the church where the spiritual healing took place defended the healer, claiming the accuser arrived with a physically normal but psychologically perceived affliction, which they attributed to a shrinkage rather than disappearance.
Dr. Samuel Agyapong, Acting Medical Superintendent at the Senya polyclinic, emphasized the importance of medical verification before jumping to conclusions or resorting to violence.
He urged the public to refrain from acts of brutality based on unsubstantiated allegations. This incident highlights the dangerous consequences of mob justice and the need for rational decision-making based on factual evidence.
