24-year-old fetish priest arrested for sharing false information
A 24-year-old mason who also claims to be a fetish priest, Emmanuel Frimpong, has found himself arrested after spreading false information about VIP Jeoun Company Limited, a prominent bus service provider.
His arrest followed the viral spread of a video in which he claimed that drivers at VIP Jeoun were subjected to a bizarre ritual that involved being buried alive in a casket as a prerequisite for operating the company’s buses.
This sensational claim prompted an investigation by the National Investigation Bureau (NIB), which collaborated with the police to locate and apprehend Frimpong.
He was brought before the Kwadaso Circuit Court, where the presiding judge, His Honor Stephen Kumi, emphasized the potential damage such actions could inflict on the company’s reputation and the broader public’s perception.
The court has since remanded Emmanuel Frimpong into police custody, with a court re-appearance scheduled for April 26, 2024.
This legal response underscores the severity with which misinformation and its consequences are treated.
Following the court session, VIP Jeoun Company Limited’s General Manager, Adakabre Frimpong Manso, addressed the media with a stern warning against the spread of baseless claims that harm the company’s standing.

It also highlights the increasing challenges companies face in the digital age, where misinformation can spread rapidly and with little control.
As legal actions continue, this case may set a precedent on how similar situations are handled in the future, emphasizing the need for responsible communication in public and digital spheres.
