Lockdown saved 62,000 lives in France – PM

Lockdown has saved 62,000 lives in France according to PM Edouard Philippe. This figure represents lives saved in a single month during the lockdown.
He told the French assembly that shops would open on 11 May but not bars and restaurants. Nearly 25,000 deaths from all causes were recorded in the UK in week of the Easter bank holiday – 108% above the expected number for the time of year.
