Kennedy Agyapong has filed for appeal concerning the Us jury’s ruling that he should give Anas Aremeyaw $18 millions

Kennedy Agyapong has filed for an appeal concerning the Us jury’s ruling that he was supposed to pay a hefty $18 millions in damage to investigate journalist Anas Aremeyaw for defamation.
The defamation lawsuit, which was filed by Anas in the US court, says that Kennedy’s continous accusations as well as premise concerning him were false and had led to significant damage to his reputation. Based on the jury, Agyapong’s statements were not only harmful but as well made with malicious intent, leading to the enormous financial award in favor of Anas.
The jury stated the fact that kennedy’s actions were defamatory to the journalist reputation.Anas, who is a popular investigative journalist known for his hard work on journalism, especially concerning corruptions and human rights abuses in Ghana, has had a high-profile career, with many of his investigations leading to major public and political consequences.
Kennedy’s public assaults on Anas, especially his controversial remarks and the release of a video indicating the journalist involved in illegal activities, were the crutial part in the case.Based on kennedy’s actions the jury ordered him to give a sum of $18 millions to Anas for ruining his reputation.
Agreeing to the ruling, Kennedy and his legal team immediately contested the decision, arguing that the trial had been marred by serious procedural errors, leading them to file for an appeal. Based on Agyapong’s lawyers opinion, the trial was a “mistrial” due to numerous matters, including improper handling of evidence and the conduct of the proceedings.
Therefore Agyapong and his team filed for appeal.
