John Dramani Mahama sends goodwill message to Ghanaian Workers on May Day.

John Dramani Mahama, the former president of Ghana and flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)  has sent goodwill message to Ghanaian Workers as Ghana marks the 2019 edition of May Day. Workers in Ghana are celebrated every year on the first of May and this day is set aside to among other things take stock of the contributions of workers, their challenges and the way forward to improving production and service delivery in all work places as worker collectively drive the economy of Ghana through the services they render to businesses and industries in Ghana in all sectors of the economy.

Workers Day and known as May Day is celebrated the world over on 1st May. The 2019 celebration theme for the world as we mark International Labour Day is  “Sustainable Pension for all: The Role of Social Partners”.

Below is the full message from John Dramani Mahama to all workers in Ghana.

On the occasion of the 2019 May Day, I commend, on behalf of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), all Ghanaian workers and our comrades around the world for your untiring and immense sacrifices from dawn to dusk, all year round.

Through your toils, over the years, we have added to the gains of our forebears. I am, however, aware of the present harsh and hard socioeconomic environment within which so much is still expected of you.

In addition, I am aware of the unprecedented insecurity in our country, which is becoming a major threat to foreign and domestic investment in our economy.
