I Believe Global set to revolutionize Ghana with 1st Int’l Conference on Gender Equality
I Believe Global Women’s Empowerment “IBGWE” Foundation, a reputed international organization, has been working aggressively towards promoting gender equality globally.
It is now ready to leave its footprint in the African nation of Ghana with its 1st International Conference on Gender Equality (ICGE) on November 24, 2023.
The much anticipated and exciting event will be held at the CEDI Conference Hall, University of Ghana, Legon, Accra, Ghana, starting from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This is a historic event not only for the I Believe Global Foundation but also for the whole nation of Ghana and beyond.
As the first international gathering focused on empowering and uplifting women’s rights in Ghana, it is expected to attract a broad range of international and local activists, experts, and advocates to discuss and promote gender equality.
I Believe Global has been stirred up by the disheartening statistics concerning gender inequality in Ghana, where only about 36.8% of women have reached secondary education compared to 45.5% of their male counterparts.
Furthermore, a recent study stated that up to 71% of women in Ghana have experienced some form of gender-based violence.
This groundbreaking conference will assemble some of the most brilliant minds in the fields of gender studies, public policy, sociology, economics, and human rights from around the globe.
The primary intention of this event is to discuss, deliberate, and design strategies to combat gender inequality that persists in Ghana and beyond.
The one-day international conference will highlight both the achievements and the challenges Ghana faces in attaining gender equality.
It would provide an international podium for open dialogues and discussions that aim to tackle the pressing issues of gender-biased norms, gender-based violence, inadequate women’s political participation, and economic inequality.
Thanks to I Believe Global Women’s Empowerment Foundation for putting up this initiative which is being supported by the Ministry of Gender Children and Social Protection, the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) Ghana CSOs Platform on SDGs, the Human Rights Reporters Ghana (HRRG) among other partners.
Simultaneously, the event will shed light on successful policies and interventions worldwide that have proven effective in promoting gender equality.
Through knowledge-sharing and collaboration, I Believe Global seeks to inspire and expedite action against gender-based injustice and inequality in Ghana.
A defining feature of the I Believe Global conference is its dynamic and participatory nature.
They believe in the importance of involving all sectors of society, from government bodies, non-profit organizations, and academia to private companies and the general public, to craft comprehensive gender equality solutions.
Discussing the upcoming conference, the President of I Believe Global, Rachael Lundgren has expressed optimism and enthusiasm, “We believe this conference will bring about a seismic shift in the nation’s perspective toward gender equality.”
She further added that “despite the hurdles, Ghana has demonstrated substantial progress in advocating for women’s rights, and this conference seeks to boost that momentum and foster a more inclusive society.”
While this is an ambitious task that comes with many challenges, I Believe Global has proven its dedication and commitment to promoting gender equality.
The organization aims to catalyze social, political, and economic change within Ghana, emphasizing solidarity, awareness, and empowerment for all individuals, regardless of their gender.
IBGWE Foundation’s 1st International Conference on Gender Equality in Ghana is anticipated to initiate an affirmative ripple effect on gender equality policies and programs, not just in Ghana but across the African continent.
By keying into the spirit of unity and collaboration, they aim to stir up the social dynamics and fuel the fire for gender equality in Ghana on this historic day.
In essence, this conference is not just a reflection of I Believe Global dedication towards improving the state of gender equality but is also seen as a monumental stride for Ghana, which is poised to make significant progress in this sphere.
