Hassan Ayariga urges electorates not to fall for NPP, NDC promises

Flagbearer for APC, Hassan Ayariga
Hassan Ayariga, the flag bearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), has urged Ghanaians to support the party and elect him as the next president in the December 7 elections.
He claimed that the leaders of the two major parties, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), had nothing fresh to offer the country, and hence any campaign promise was a desperate attempt for votes.
“That is why I am urging my fellow Ghanaians not to fall for this desperate attempt to gain votes. Instead, I implore you to consider a young man with a vision, a leader who has Ghanaians at heart.
A leader who has shown immense dedication,” he said. Mr Hassan Ayariga stated at a news conference at the party’s headquarters in Accra on June 11, 2024, that he is committed to the country’s progress.
If elected president, the APC flag bearer has committed to institute a “Economic Lockdown” to prevent capital flight, enhance productivity, and ensure that Ghanaians benefit from the country’s resources.
“We will establish Ghana as a hub of production, manufacturing and industry, implement programmes to create decent jobs and introduce a 24-hour economy and a three-shift system to maximise productivity and efficiency in various sectors,” Hassan Ayariga added.
Mr Ayariga also promised to construct a national database to enable accurate data collecting for informed decision-making, as well as better policy formulation and implementation, followed by a national development plan to assure long-term growth.
Depreciation Cedi
Regarding the depreciation of the Ghana Cedi, Mr Hassan Ayariga encouraged the government to enact policies aimed at creating economic stability, decreasing corruption and resource misuse, and investing in critical sectors such as production, manufacturing, and industrialization.

To accomplish this, Hassan Ayariga urged the government to prohibit all Forex trading, close all businesses that charge in dollars, halt contract quotations and awards in dollars, prohibit the opening of foreign currency accounts and close all foreign currency accounts, and prohibit all hotels, businesses, airlines, landlords, schools, automobile companies, and shipping lines from quoting and charging in foreign currencies.
“Why should a Ghanaian patronise the service of a company in his country with dollars? Why? Can a Ghanaian charge for his service in the US in the Ghana Cedis? Let’s all be patriotic citizens and defend our nation,” he stressed.
