Ghana Coach Otto Addo to Announce Squad for World Cup Qualifiers 2026
Ghana’s Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, is set to announce his squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against two African countries; Mali and the Central African Republic next week.
The former Ghana international has been observing the players during the international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda in March and is now preparing to name his team for the two crucial matches in June.
According to report, Addo is expected to name most of the players who featured in March’s friendlies, while welcoming some key players who missed the matches.
The quartet of Thomas Partey, Joseph Paintsil, Mohammed Kudus, and Inaki Williams are all set to come back to the squad after their absence in the matches in Morocco. Osman Bukari and Alexander Djiku are also expected to make a comeback.
However, veteran centre-back Daniel Amartey could miss the upcoming matches due to struggles with game time in Turkey with Besiktas.
The 28-year-old has been a regular member of the Black Stars squad in recent years, but his lack of playing time in Turkey could see him miss out on the crucial matches.
Otto Addo, who was reappointed as Ghana coach in February, has a heavy duty ahead of him.
