40-Year-old Fulani Herdsman Killed By Unemployed Youth Leader In Volta Region.
A 40-year-old Fulani herdsman, Sulley Hassan, has met his untimely death at the hands of Selase Dotse, a notorious unemployed youth leader in the Alabota community of the North Tongu District in the Volta Region.
According to eyewitnesses, Selase Dotse, who had a history of violent behavior, attacked and killed Hassan’s cow without provocation.
When Hassan’s son reported the incident to him, Selase Dotse allegedly attacked and killed Hassan as well, chopping off his head before fleeing the scene.
The Assembly member of Dorfor-Adidome Electoral Area, Tse Jupiter Zietor, revealed that Hassan’s son reported the incident to him after witnessing the brutal attack.
Zietor immediately informed the police at Juapong and accompanied elders of the community to the suspect’s house, where they found Hassan’s beheaded body.
A search party comprising of community youth and police personnel was quickly organized to apprehend Selase Dotse.

He was eventually found in the Agorveme community with the chopped head of Hassan.
The police collected the body and deposited it at the Tagadzi mortuary for autopsy.
This is not Selase Dotse’s first brush with the law. He had previously attempted to murder his younger brother, stabbing him with a sharp knife.
He was arrested but was later released based on family pleas.
The Juapong District Police Commander, Supt. Mr. Promise Agbanyo, confirmed the incident but declined to comment further due to superior officer instructions.
The senseless killing of Sulley Hassan has sent shockwaves through the Alabota community, leaving many wondering what could have driven Selase Dotse to commit such a heinous crime.
