E.P Schools commence 2019 Education Week Celebration with Route March
The Evangelical Presbyterian schools at all levels if education in Ghana have commenced the 2019 week long education week celebration. The education week celebration is under the theme “The Quality of Education in Our schools, The Church as a stakeholder”. The
All schools of the E.P. Church organized mammoth route marches in their various communities to create awareness about the celebration and the presence of the schools such communities.
In Accra E.P. Schools in Madina, Adenta, Kisseman and Mempeasem ( East Legon) were not left out of the fun. In the Volta region, reports gathered indicate that all schools embarked on the route much amidst singing and dancing. Some placards held up by pupils of Nkonya Ntumda E.P. Basic school read “Nkonya Ntumda E.P. Education week.”

Madam Jerbert Barnor would be held as a nondenominational grand durbar on Sunday 17th February 2019. The Adidome E.P. Basic School, Matse Dzokpe-Ando E.P. Basic School, Posse Cement EP Basic School, Angloga E.P. Basic School and Ziavi Dzogbe E.P. Primary school were not left out of the fun on the day. In a related story, Abayi Catherine won the E.P.C.G Mempeasem edition of the Spelling bee organized in the school as part of the celebration.
Education week programs
Cleaning activities, quizzes and debates are some of the programs pupils and teachers across the country are expected to participate in. On Wednesday, school children will offer special prayers for the schools and the church at large.
The boys have been separated from the men and all is set for the Volta Regional Finals of the 2019 Education Week Quiz which is slated for 14th February, 2019 at Ho Kpodzi Dela Cathedral at exactly 8: am. The schools that made it to the finals fo the Basic School Quiz are Dambia Basic A JHS, Kadjebi Central JHS, Kpando Kpodzi Basic A JHS, Ho Have Basic JHS, Adidome JHS and Adafianu JHS. The winner will have the bragging right for the next one year.
Games and other sports will take place in all schools and districts on Friday whiles the
Congregations that do not have schools celebrate the week with the E.P. Students Union taking over the program to ensure no church is left out of the celebration.
Brief information on EPCG’s Contribution to Education
The E.P. Church since its establishment by the Bremen missionaries has never relented in its effort to support government through the establishment of schools to offer quality and holistic education to the children within its catchment area. Today the church can boast of a university, Colleges of education, Agric, technical and vocational training centres as well as secondary and basic schools across the length and breadth of the country with a greater number of these located in the Volta region of Ghana.
This year’s education week has witnessed debates amongst the colleges of education and senior high schools of the church. This year’s debate to usher in the education week was held at the Ho Mawuli Senior high School.
