UPSA Adjudged the ‘Best Corporate Governance Compliant’ Institution

The University of Professional Studies, Accra has been adjudged the ‘Best Corporate Governance Compliant Institution’ in the Education Category at the 2019 Ghana Corporate Governance Excellence Awards held last Friday, November 22, in Accra.
The Awards gala seek to stimulate and sustain the culture of good corporate governance, and champion director professionalism and development among public and private sector actors.
It was under theme: “Optimizing the Growth of SME’s whiles Globalizing Big Corporates: The Role of Good Corporate Governance.”
Receiving the award at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Charles Barnor, said the University’s continual demand for professionalism and strict adherence to quality measures and best corporate governance practices continues to pay off.
He, however, added that Management remains committed to improving upon its corporate governance systems while working at the same time towards achieving global standards.
He dedicated the award to the hardworking Faculty, staff, students, as well as all stakeholders of the University and commended them for their diverse contributions to making UPSA a global brand.
The event was organised by the Institute of Directors-Ghana (OID-GHANA) in collaboration with the African Corporate Governance Network (ACGN).
