Who holds the university Prof Adei and university lecturers accountable for the kind of graduates produce? This is a big question that the professor who has been tormenting teachers in recent times must answer. From suggesting teachers are “criminals” who are unproductive and should be fired to teachers must be ready to sacrifice up to 50% of their salary for saying they will not return to the class room. He seems to have gotten a good response.

This is one of the most ridiculous arguments from this same professor who thought teachers’ salaries should be cut by 50% for their “refusal” to go back to school and criticized them for failing to make inputs as to how schools should resume. Is this not the same professor who has not made any suggestions (that I know of) in the same regard?
Has this professor thought of how come the job of the basic school teacher is so important and yet his /her salary is so low compared with that of the university teacher’s ？ Who holds the university teacher accountable for the kind of graduates being produced, which industries complain of not being up to the standards/tasks?
The professor should note that the keywords are PRODUCTIVITY and REMUNERATION. If you are a professor or a Doctor teaching at a higher level of education and you are not making a meaningful impact on society because students are not well prepared at the basic levels, then of what use are you to the society?
The major problem in our society today is the greed and the class system that we create or want to create.
If all of us (basic to university teachers) are doing the same job, then teachers at one level should not be seen as “low ” and therefore be given so much less remuneration than their colleagues at the other levels by the same employer.
