Western Reg. minister allegedly sues EIB, Nana Aba Anamoah for defamation
Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, who is in charge of the Western Region, is said to have sued the media company Excellence in Broadcasting (EIB) and its general manager, Nana Aba Anamoah, because of the Galamsey cash report.
Kwabena Okyere Darko is said to have sued the media company ELB Networks for libel at an Accra High Court.
According to DailyGuidnetwork, the Minister sued the media house over an article in which ELB said that the regional minister had passed out after his driver ran away with his GHc17 million, which he got from illegal mining known as Galamsey.
Even though EIB didn’t name any ministers in their Facebook post, Mr. Darko Mensah, a member of parliament for Takoradi, said, “This news alert seems to hint at me.”
“It’s not surprising, then, that people who still want to ruin my hard-won reputation and keep me from doing my job and helping the people in my region, like my constant fight against illegal mining, have used the news to further their evil goals.
“Please let you know that I’m healthy and fit and doing my job in good health and a good mood. These attempts to stop me from doing my work don’t bother me at all. So, he said, all good-hearted Ghanaians should ignore that news alert and treat it with the disrespect it deserves.
