Tamaki TEFL Recruitment (TTR) is currently looking for passionate and energetic teachers to join one of the top language schools in Japan.
As a private language school position, the class sizes are much smaller compared to public schools, with an active teaching style that involves the use of songs, flashcards, and games. If you have a lot of energy and enthusiasm for teaching young learners, then this is the perfect opportunity for you!
The role involves teaching young learners aged between 2 and 15 years old, with a focus on 6-12-year-old students. The class sizes are relatively small, usually consisting of 6–10 students per group.
Expect to sing lots of songs, do a bit of dancing, and play high-energy activities with your students. The majority of the lessons will be with 6-12 year olds, but there will also be some lessons with 1-year-old children, with parents present.
The salary and benefits offered are very attractive. The monthly salary is 240,000 Yen/month, with an end of contract bonus of 80,000 Yen, and opportunities for renewal as well as an increase in salary and bonuses.
TTR will provide visa sponsorship and full support in obtaining the working visa, as well as pre-departure guidance, preparation for documentation, general advice for day-to-day living, and ongoing support throughout the year.
Teachers will receive two weeks of paid training, which will involve observing their trainer and teaching for up to 6 days in a real classroom setting in Nagoya or Osaka.
TTR will also set up a company apartment for teachers, with full assistance provided for opening a Japanese bank account, getting enrolled in the Japanese National Health Insurance (NHI), welfare support, ongoing training throughout the year, observations, and feedback from their local supervisor.
To qualify for the role, you should have a Bachelor’s degree or higher, be a native English speaker with a passport, and have an enthusiastic, adaptable, and energetic personality.
While TEFL certification is not required, it is recommended, and Japanese language skills are not a requirement, but it is advised to study before departure to make the transition smoother.
